Extracting Images on a new Landscape Page

Extracting Images on a new Landscape page

Sometimes an extracted image or diagram is much more usefully if it is extracted on a new landscape page because the increased dimension of the page allows bigger images to be displayed on the page.In order to extract images in this way we need two master pages:
  • 1. The first one is the default master page used by most of the pages.Since the default master page is out of this blog scope, we create a simple master page as the default master page and don’t set any properties for it (the orientation will remain portrait).
  • 2.  The second master page is a special master page we create in order to set a word page to be Landscape.
Using the “New Master Page” dialog from the “Master Pages“-> “New Master Page” menu ,create both master pages. For the Default master page provide a name and set no properties. For the Landscape master page provide a name and set the Orientation property to Landscape. For this blog presentation we’ll extract data from a Rhapsody project. The output document will contain the following structure:
The output concept :

In this blog article we’ll create a simple template just to demonstrate how the switch between master pages should be made :
We’ll create three containers:
  • 1. In the first container we’ll extract the name of the Rhapsody project and we’ll set the Default master page.
  • 2. In the second container we’ll extract the sequence Diagram and we’ll set the Landscape master page.
  • 3. After the extraction of the diagrams, in the last container we extract the sequence diagram names and reset the master page to the Default master page.
As we can observe, the first container and the last one will have the Default master page set ,  while the second container where the images are extracted will have the Landscape master page set.
Using this strategy , you can create masterpages containing other formatting properties and set them to a specific group of extraction elements.
