Since Linux OS does not have registers, the Tau target location must be set manually. We will provide you with all the information required to set up the Tau extraction using IBM Rational Publishing Engine. You can extract Tau data as long as IBM Rational Tau 4.2.0.1 or later is installed on the same machine.

The following steps needs to be performed:

  1. Edit the start_rpe_launcher.sh file located in the installation folder:
    • Remove the  “#” character from lines 6-11 (uncomment lines)
    • Replace the “/path/to/tau” string from the line 6 with the path to Tau (location where Tau is installed).
  2. Save the file.

After all these steps are completed the Launcher is configured to extract data from Tau.

Note: The same procedure is required for start_rpe_studio.sh from Document Studio if the integrated Launcher for the Document Studio is used in the Tau extraction.
